The bank was entering the Uzbek market with an existing mobile app and design system developed for a Western market. We needed to identify which solutions could not be carried over unchanged and adapt the key flows to local users’ habits.
BANKING APP — NDA
Banking app UX/UI adaptation for a new market

Context
What we did
- We conducted a comparative analysis of banking apps in the target market and other countries in the region, and reviewed the bank’s current product.
- We identified which solutions needed to be adapted to different user habits, and redesigned the home screen and transfer flow.
- We adapted the design system to the local context and prepared solutions for the product’s further development.
- We also proposed a concept for an embedded financial AI assistant.

Benchmarking and UX audit
We reviewed banking apps in the target market and several neighbouring markets and compared them with the bank’s current app. We looked at what appears on the home screen, how transfers work and what users see before confirming a transaction. We also cross-checked our findings against user reviews and solutions familiar to the market.
It became clear that frequent banking operations needed to be moved higher up, while transfer flows needed to give users more context before they acted. These findings informed the new home screen, the transfer flow and the adaptation of the design system.

Home screen
We designed the home screen as a fast entry point to everyday banking. Core operations sit at the top so users can immediately reach the reason they opened the app.
We added spending and goals below so users can quickly understand their financial position and progress towards their goals. The primary action flow remains on top, while recommendations and product offers sit lower in a separate layer without disrupting the main flow.

Transfer flow
We divided operations into clear types, simplified data entry and added a confirmation step where users see all essential information before making a transfer. A swipe gesture was provided to close the screen.

AI assistant
In addition to the core brief, we proposed an embedded AI assistant. It could complement everyday banking and help users understand their money better and manage it more deliberately. Its role would be to analyse transaction history, recommend banking products, suggest financial education materials, and help plan budgets and savings.
